The yearly increase in the enrolments in Indian universities acts as a testament to the consistent improvements that have happened in the Indian higher education strata. India also has 789 universities across the country which offers one-off learning programs and courses to its students. The increasing tie-ups that Indian universities have created with foreign educational institutions is also helping the students to have international exposure and training from some of the most reputed learning destinations in the world. The higher ability and skill set of students graduating from various Indian universities have also attracted the attention of MNCs and conglomerates from around the globe which is helping our students to make a name for themselves in top companies in different countries.
India’s higher education system was been ranked at the 26th position in the world in the QS Higher Education System Strength Rankings 2018. Also, India is especially renowned for the quality of its education in the field of engineering and technology subjects which are significantly spearheaded by institutes like Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore and the prestigious technical institutes like Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). Today, a total of 75 top universities from India are being featured in the first ever QS India University Rankings, this mainly includes IITs landing in the top 10. Apart from the science and technology specialists, some of the other highest-ranked comprehensive universities of India are the University of Hyderabad (ranked seventh in India), the University of Delhi (eighth), the University of Calcutta (11th) and Jadavpur University (12th).
